Budapest Love-Stories

(Series of c-prints in different sizes.)

Budapest Love Stories is a work about physical and mental desires. The six-week stay of teaching at the Budapest University of Arts and Design in 2005 should have contained at least one "love story", if I could have chosen. Love just happens, but it didn´t, so far.

The images are very personal recordings. The titles are talking about what could have happened, while the pictures themselves show what the situations were really like.

This is a work of consequent autobiographical theater: I dissected my guest teacher' s room in the students´ dormitory in a lack of other, more social occupations. The sad mood depicted is not faked, but it was wintertime, anyway. The towl in the shower is one of the few remindings after my grandmother´s death.

A close up of an entire picture. Maybe self-mockery helped in the end: a happy end...

Budapest Love-Stories has been exhibited in the Kulturzentrum Kreuzberg in Berlin in 2005.
